Bovingdon Baptist Church
‘Church, Friends & Family’ Weekend Away
24th-26th June 2011

Following the success of our weekend away last May, plans are afoot for another in June 2011. The idea is to relax together in the pleasant surroundings of Hothorpe Hall Conference Centre (see www.Hothorpe.co.uk for pictures) with some optional Christian teaching morning and evening from guest speakers and a supervised club for children aged 4+ during these sessions (again, with help from outside). Hothorpe Hall is a beautiful rural manor house in Leicestershire (nr Market Harborough), built in 1799. It boasts:

  • Lovely peaceful rural location with stunning views.
  • 12 acres of parkland to explore including children’s adventure trail & playhouse.
  • Italian style Trafford Lounge with fully licensed bar and 24-hour refreshments available.
  • Light and airy meeting rooms, many opening directly onto garden.
  • Superb en-suite bedrooms, including some suitable for wheelchair access.
  • Spacious dining room & choice of delicious buffet meals prepared with fresh local produce.
  • Leisure facilities: pool table, table tennis, volleyball, croquet, boules, giant Connect Four, board games, multi-use games area for tennis, five-a-side football and basketball.
  • Nursery room with toys for pre-school children (must be accompanied by an adult).

We anticipate that the final, all-inclusive price for the weekend (5pm Friday – 3pm Sunday) will be:

£140 per adult sharing a double or twin room (or £175 with single room supplement)

£110 per child aged 12-16 sharing in a room with at least one adult

£75 per child aged 4-11 sharing in a room with at least one adult

Free - children under 4 sharing family room

The total amount may be paid by instalments over the year. Payable in full by 22nd May 2011.

All rooms are en suite. Price includes full cooked or continental breakfast, morning coffee & biscuits, buffet lunch, afternoon tea & biscuits and 3-course buffet dinner (Friday & Saturday). It also includes a small contribution towards speaker/children’s worker expenses. Additional cash donations towards expenses / thankyou gifts can be made prior to or during the weekend.

If you’d like to come, please complete and return the form to Mary. We are obliged to pay a holding fee to Hothorpe Hall in March 2010, so would be grateful for a deposit of £15 per paying guest with your form. Cheques made payable to Bovingdon Baptist Church, please.
